Can cats or dogs eat chives / leeks?
Cat: Don't eat · Dog: Don't eat — absolutely forbid. Chives are in the onion and garlic (allium) family. They contain N-propyl disulfide that causes red blood cells to break down and cause anemia. Cats are especially sensitive. Both fresh and cooked are dangerous. Including menus that contain chives, such as chive snacks. If eaten, note the amount and take them to the veterinarian immediately.
