Shiba Inus have a tendency to have their kneecaps become unstable and slip out of their normal joint grooves. This causes dogs to have intermittent hopping or limping in their hind legs.
Care guidelines: Mild cases may be managed with weight control and symptom monitoring. In cases where the patella is so dislocated that it causes limping, corrective surgery is required.
Shiba Inus are prone to environmental allergies. This often manifests as recurrent skin and/or ear infections. More than a sneeze
